Great place (only place) for great Cajun food. Wonderful staff.

Great food and atmosphere. But I always take a star off when a business doesn't have paid Pandora/Spotify. I'm eating my nice food and listening to an add for McDonalds. Drives me insane.

OMG!!!! One of the best little hole in the walls ever. My cousin and I shared a seafood platter. It had fried everything ...tall about smiling while clogging those arteries. We only eat fried everything every once in a while. It was yummmmmlicious 😛😛

Great casual place to eat different seafood dishes. Was busy at the time we ate, but service was good. Never had stuffed catfish before. Pleasantly surprised!

Spacy seating, quicky service and sweet waitress Alura with great suggestions. Plentiful man sized fried platter (unless your a real hungry girl) with big O rings and some cajun grilled catfish platter you wanna tell your mamma about. Just flat out stomping place to dine.

Service was terribly slow, and the food was cooked inconsistently. Half the shrimp were lightly fried and the other half were much darker. Overall it was a forgettable experience.

I ordered seafood platters and kids' meals. Very reasonable prices. Ranges from $10-$20 per guest. Food was well seasoned and service was speedy. Great space for family dining near the front or sports bar excitement in the back. Well worth the Cajun cuisine cravings with nice proportions.

Some work friends and I ate at Ponchatoulas this week and it was average. I was expecting it to be really good since it is highly rated in the area. I ordered the fried shrimp and every shrimp had that chlorine / chemical taste. I really do not like shrimp that have this taste and was extremely surprised to have shrimp at this restaurant with it. I really did like the boudin balls and would definitely recommend those. The fried pickles were average and so are the fries. It's an okay restaurant and has a good feel, but I don't think I will return. I may have just been unlucky and got some bad shrimp, but I would figure the quality control would have been better. Service was very good and our waitress was very attentive.

Food is delicious, the best in town! Only thing is they pick and choose with their customers! Not too fond of or friendly with my kind! It's best to order to go if you're not a regular or their kind! #facts #justbeinghonest

Food was great! So delicious and our waitress Camille was awesome!! Lot of food for the price, may need a take out plate for rest of food to take home tho. Overall meal was great! Great waitress+Awesome food=FANTASTIC VISIT!! Will be back!

It was a cool little spot in a cool little town.

I felt like I was eating with the locals. Ranch dressing and tartar sauce were delicious. Catfish and red beans & rice were really good. I really appreciated that I could get both on the same plate. My server was friendly and attentive. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but I'd gladly come back when I'm in town again.

Came Friday night. It was super busy and we sat in the bar area. We told the server how much time we had because we had to set up for a pep rally right across the street. The server recommended we pay for our food before we received it to expedite the process. We waited 45 minutes for our food, but ended up having to rush out without our food. People came in after we did, ordered after we did, and received their food, but we were never served our food. The waitress also took our receipt when we paid. When we asked for our money back because we never received our food we were told they couldn't refund because we didn't have the receipt. Our entire party was scammed.

The Boudin Balls, Grilled Shrimp and Veggies were good. The music was good. The Abita ‘Wrought Iron’ IPA was good. But I was annoyed immensely by the patron who was begging for a drink and his continuous mumblings in spite of being warned by ?? The Manager??. I moved away finally but when our food came, my wife, the Registered Nurse, educated in alcoholism and addiction, fed him half her meal. It’s true that RNs are Angels. Jesus FN Christ not a good look for a bar or a restaurant. I do not want to be harassed in your restaurant or anyone else’s.

The food tastes So good! Its always ready in a very reasonable amount of time.

Great food and OUTSTANDING service. This North Lousiana's food spot is as good as the majority of southern Louisiana food spots. Very good prices too.

This place was just what I was hoping it would be like. We had the Santa Fe chicken which was a recommendation by the hostess and the fried green tomatoes. The chicken was cooked perfectly with so much flavor. Darby had great patience and recommended a great beer after the one I wanted was out on tap. Thank you for a great place to eat on a fun road trip.

This is a great college student place, but definitely not fine dining. Their signature pasta dish Crawfish Shirley was way too oily and too much cheap cheese. Cheeseburger was beyond well done, black and crispy. They refuse to cook it less than well done. Tables and seats are sticky, need to be resealed. Waitress very sweet and service good.

Everything was delicious!! Finally a place that does homemade onion rings...not to much batter and cooked perfectly! Shrimp and oysters were excellent. My husband had the pasta shirley dish and it was so good! Absolutely will be back!!

Stuffed catfish or crawfish shirley in fall land winter, spicy boiled crawfish and shrimp in the spring and summer, cold beer year round. Mix in a hot band on a Friday or Saturday night and this place is hard to beat!

Ordered crawfish and shrimp online. Someone from Pontchatoulas called me and said they didn't have anymore crawfish so they gave me more shrimp instead for the crawfish price which was good. I could only eat a couple because it was sooo hot, it didn't taste like crawfish boil seasoning, it just tasted like they dumped a container of cayenne pepper in there. I ended up re boiling it in water to get rid of the really hot spice.

2 more people needed to be working the floor. The 3 that were there were hustling as fast as they could. The food was delicious. The mozzarella cheese sticks are the best I've eaten anywhere and I highly recommend the crawfish etouffe. Sorry if I spelled last word wrong 😬

Food looks great in pics and everyone said food was good. I had catfish poboy and it was 1/2 loaf of french bread and 2 very small pieces of catfish. Service was good and we were with 3 large groups.

I met up with some friends from college here. This was one of my spots when I was going to LA Tech. My little rent house was only 2 blocks from there, so I was there a good bit when I could afford it. Brought back a lot of memories going here. It's still a great little spot to get a bite and have a few beers. Probably always will be.

I found this place while on a road trip. It is in an area that has a quaint, small town feel. The service was good. The food was good. I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. I am marking it to possibly return on my next trip that passes through Ruston.4.15.19I planned my latest trip through Louisiana so I could stop for lunch. Just being honest. The chicken strips were overcooked which made them dry. There was a short hair on our daughters shrimp plate. The fries are decent. The meat pies and shrimp are good. But everything is overpriced here. We've only been twice but don't plan on returning.

An hour wait and never got our food. Waitress was nice but we will not be back EVER! Hire does a Cajun restaurant run out of rice!?

Not the best visit for us. We were there about 6:30 on a Sunday. Shortly after we arrived a large lady's softball team arrived. The restaurant was pretty full so we all had to wait. Which is fine. What is not fine is that the hostess started to seat the huge party before us even though we were thee before them. So after that we were seated. It took forever for us to get a drink order placed. And then a long time for our entree order to be placed. And then the wait for the food started......it took 45 minutes to an hour for our food to come out. And the food was mostly barely warm, the french fries were cold. I think the food would have been very good if it wasn't cold. I would say do not stop here if they look very busy. Not sure if the staff can handle a full house very well.

A variety of dishes to select from. Good food, just make sure you are not in a rush. They are relaxed with serving times.
